it's sad that the A's get like 10,000 fans every night, they need a new ballpark like a mother. now blanton gets to pitch in front of people, lets see how the dude adjusts

This is the single greatest thing ever written. I'm talking better than "The Odyssey", Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven", JD Salinger's "Catcher in the Rye", and George Orwell's "1984" combined!

New York is a city that I absolutely love to hate. I could write more, but you summed up my feelings perfectly.

You suck, New York.

I dont think I would put Sizemore in the category of home run sluggers like howard, thome and berkman...eventhough i would love to see that. Hes more like an utley hitter...smart and can hit the ball all over the field. If id pick anyone, i would go with berkman...pretty weak contest this year...almost borderline pathetic.

Nice article. I'd like to know how Hanley Ramirez didn't get into the derby. That guy can hit!

Bedard is controllable through the 2009 season since he won't yet have the required 6 years of service time. So if the Phils pull the trigger on a deal for him (as I'd like them to), they'll be getting a year and half rental instead of a two-month rental.

Sorry, but I dont see Lohse as an option...the Cards would be absolutely stupid to get rid of a pitcher they so desperately need to stay in their divisional race after the cubs and brewers improved their pitching around them. I could definitely see the other two though.

Great move for the Sixers. Now, what about the clog at the 3 (Iguadala and Young) and the lack of a true 2? Should Stefanski look to trade Iggy for a top shooter and a backup small forward? (After all, with Carney gone there are now 2 starters and nobody you want to relegate to the bench at small forward.) Or do you move Iggy to the 2 (a shooting guard with no outside shot)? Unquestionably, this team is stronger now than it has been in years, but now the 4 seems to be their strongest position (Brand, Evans, Smith, sometimes Young, and of course Speights). Smith will probably spend most of his playing time as Dalembert's backup though. If I am correct, with today's moves and the earlier release of Ollie, Hill, Randolph, and Amundsun, the team is down to 10 roster players. That leaves plenty of room to expand, but now little money with which to do it.
